Nightlife in Turkey

On top of beautiful beaches and rich history, the nightlife in Turkey is a big draw. To help you find the hottest spots around, here's our guide to the best nightlife in Turkey.

Nightlife in Antalya

Antalya Marina and Kaleiçi (old town)

You'll find everything from Turkish tavernas to late-night clubs in Antalya's marina and the old town. Start your night with a quiet drink in the cosy Castle Café next to Kaleiçi Castle. Head to the seafront to take it up a gear at Club Inferno. This place is all about late nights, great drink deals, and amazing live music.

Side

Side's nightlife scene is pretty easy going, with most restaurants doubling up as bars when the sun goes down. Relax in style at Karma Restaurant & Sky Lounge, with gourmet food and brilliant sea views. Grab a drink at the rustic Apollonik taverna.

Belek

The best nightlife in Turkey isn't always about pumping clubs and packed dancefloors. Nightlife in Belek centres around sophisticated hotels and restaurants. The Gloria Pub is a popular place to go for an upmarket dinner, with live bands playing in the background. You'll also find Mambo Lounge in the middle of town; it's the place to go for laid-back dining and delicious world cuisine.

Nightlife in Bodrum

Bodrum

There's certainly no shortage of bars and nightclubs in Bodrum. You'll find some of the best ones down on the beachfront. If you fancy something a little different to the usual landlocked nightclub then there's also a floating club that leaves the harbour on a catamaran at 1am. Mood Bodrum is the biggest (and trendiest) club in Bodrum; entry is quite pricey, but it does include your first drink.

Gmbet

Gmbet is one of Turkey's prime party spots. When the sun goes down, Bar Street is the noisiest place in town. There are no official nightclubs, but there are plenty of bars where you can drink and dance the night away. Among the most popular spots are X Roof Bar, The Central Bar, and Shakers Dance Bar.

Nightlife in Dalaman

Marmaris

Marmaris is lucky enough to have two bar streets; one in the centre and another near the beach. They're both lined with buzzy Turkish bars, cocktail lounges and nightclubs. Crazy Daisy (on the beachside bar street) is one of the resort's most popular nightclubs.

l Deniz

Evenings in l Deniz are as chilled-out as they come. Stroll along the promenade and you'll find dance bars serving up tasty cocktails and ice-cold beers. It's not the kind of place where you stay out into the early hours, but it's a great starting-off point, or for those who want a (reasonably) early night. If you're looking for a big night then our top tip is to jump in a taxi and head to the nearby village of Hisarn.

Hisarn

Hisarn is a small resort, but it's got a huge personality. Kick off your evening with a quiet drink in the London Garden Bar or the Black Pearl. Then ramp things up at the Time Out bar, with its buzzing dancefloor and karaoke sessions.

Nightlife in Izmir

Kusadasi

Nightlife in Kusadasi centres around Bar Street, a lively strip lined with karaoke dens, Irish pubs and more. The waterfront is the place to go for clubs, which open until the early hours.

You can also sample a quieter scene in the Kale district, where Turkish tavernas are tucked away inside traditional houses. The charming Orient Bar in Keleici (the old part of town) is a brilliant spot; think live music, quirky décor and a friendly atmosphere. It's a great mix and one of the best spots for genuine fun nightlife in Turkey.

Özdere

Holidays to Özdere are all about relaxation, and the nightlife here is just the same. You'll find a cluster of traditional Turkish bars and restaurants where you can spend a laid-back evening. The Love Square on the promenade is a great spot for delicious seafood, with a side of spectacular sea views.

Nightlife in Istanbul

Istiklal Caddesi and Taksim Square

These Istanbul neighbourhoods are home to some of the best places in Turkey for nightlife. Even the shops are open until the early hours. There are lots of trendy bars including Kara Kedi (meaning 'black cat'), a cosy bar where local musicians play regularly to a packed room.

Litera is a chic restaurant by day and lounge by night, with a DJ after 11pm, while Babylon plays a wide range of electronic music. There's also XLarge Club, a super trendy club and a celebrity hotspot.
