Whether you're here for a relaxing beach break, or want to pack in as much as you can during your break, there are plenty of things to do in Santa Ponsa, and you've got everything you need for a great holiday. Santa Ponsa is particularly family-friendly, so everyone will enjoy their time in this pretty, relaxed town.

Fiesta time

Come and join in with the celebrations in September, when Majorca's largest fiesta hits town. For two weeks the Santa Ponsa Fiesta Rey En jaume celebrates the town's medieval heritage, with street parades, stalls, and knights in shining armour. A re-enactment of the battle that put an end to Moorish rule in the 13th century takes place, complete with fully armed knights, while the evening is a round of beach parties all topped off with a huge firework display.

Beautiful beaches

Glistening blue water laps gently against powder-soft sandy beaches; no, this isn't the Caribbean, these are Majorca's marvellous beaches. One of the best-kept secrets and a real favourite with the locals is the charming Little Beach. It's a small cove mid-way between the bigger and more crowded Santa Ponsa Beach, and the Marina. There may not be all the facilities you'll find on the larger beaches, but it's perfect for escaping the crowds and simply chilling out and relaxing.

The pretty surroundings make it a special spot for nature lovers too, while the gently shelving beach is safe enough for little ones to paddle in. One of the best locations for a great view is Cruz del Descubrimiento. It's a very family-friendly spot too, with paths that are wide and firm enough to let you take a pushchair. It's best known for its iconic cross that commemorates the landing of King James 1, who founded modern-day Majorca. Don't forget your camera, as it's a wonderful spot for those panoramic shots of the Marina and the beach.
